The island of Cephalonia
Cephalonia is called the flower island for a good reason (the odor of flowers is the first thing you will experience once you reach the island). It is a very beautiful island and not flooded by tourists yet. It is very important not to behave like a regular tourist on this island otherwise you might get trouble. Life is pretty expensive on this island. But we found some very good addresses to eat and sleep. The island has a rich variety of landscapes and several types of beaches. The island not too small. Y ou need about a week to take a good look at it. There are golden beaches as beaches with pebbles. We prefer the latter since your clothing remains without sand. Advisable is a visit to the grotto's at Drogerati and the lake of Milissani a former cave which roof has come down and now has got very nice blue water. Beautiful places are of course Sami, Fiskardo, Assos and Argostolis.
